LIGHT VS. DARKNESS

LIGHT VS DARKNESS
In the beginning God created darkness from Light.  So why darkness and light. The significance is both physical and spiritual.

First Physically

Visibility:  Darkness conceal or hide visibility making it difficult or impossible to see clearly. Light on the other hand, illuminates and reveals what is hidden in darkness.
Guidance: Light serves as a guide showing the way and prevents one from stumbling or getting lost in the darkness.  Darkness leads to confusion or danger.
Life/Growth. Light is essential for life and growth in nature for instance Plants need sunlight to grow.

On the contrast, Spiritually,

Sin & Righteousness:  Darkness symbolizes sin, ignorance and spiritual blindness.  Light represents righteousness and truth.  It helps us see we are sinners and need to seek forgiveness for our sins from Christ Jesus. This is a change or transition from spiritual darkness -a life of sin, to spiritual light, a life of reconciliation and a life in Christ.
Salvation and Redemption: Jesus is the light of the world John 8:12 Because He is the Light we obtain salvation through Him where we are brought out of darkness into His marvelous light 1 Peter 2:9
Guidance.  The physical light gives light for guidance. The spiritual light, which is God’s words, give guidance to every step of the way of our lives.
Life/Growth:  As we embrace and live in the light of Christ, it brings transformation and growth in our lives as we are now conformed to the image of Christ and experience spiritual renewal, maturity and fruitfulness.  This is growth HALLELUJAH!!
JESUS SAID IN JOHN 8:12 I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD, WHOEVER  FOLLOWS ME WILL NEVER WALK IN DARKNESS BUT WILL HAVE THE LIGHT OF LIFE. 

STAY IN THE LIGHT – JESUS IS THE LIGHT

PRAYER:

Dear God, as there is a struggle between light and darkness among us your people, we pray that you will help us to embrace the light of Christ in our lives, through your words. In Jesus' name. Amen
