JESUS PURPOSE ON EARTH FULFILLED

John 18:21
Jesus came to earth for a purpose and that purpose was fulfilled.  Here are some reasons Christ came and died on the cross for mankind.
1. Atonement for Sin:  The primary reason Jesus died is to provide atonement for humanity's sins.  We as Christians believe that all humans are inherently sinful and fall short of God's perfect standard (Romans 3:23) Through his death, Jesus offers forgiveness and redemption to all who believe in him.
2. Demonstration  of Love:  Jesus' death is absolutely the greatest demonstration of God's love for mankind. Jesus sacrificed himself on the cross, and showed the depth of God's love and willingness to save mankind from sin and its consequences.  His act of selflessness shows us the extent to which God is willing to go to restore relationship with humanity or mankind.
3. Fulfillment of Prophecy:  In the bible many prophecies were made about Jesus the Messiah who would suffer and die for the sins of the world.  You could read on your own, Isaiah 53, and Psalm 22.
4.  Victory Over Death and Sin:  Jesus' death is also interpreted as a victory over death and sin.  Through his resurrection , we believe or Christians believe that Jesus conquered death, offering the hope of eternal life to all who believe in Him.
5.  Reconciliation with God:   Jesus' death reconciles humanity with God, restoring the broken relationship caused by sin.  Through faith in Jesus Christ, we as believers are adopted into God's family and become heirs of salvation.

Thus Jesus' death serves many purposes such as atonement for sin, demonstration of God's love, fulfillment of prophecy, victory over death and sin, and reconciliation with God.  The birth, death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus is the foundation of the Christian faith.

Prayer:  Dear Father, I thank you for your demonstration of love when you send your only Son to earth to take upon Himself the sins of this world.  Lord I lift you up and thank you for saving my soul from sin.  In Jesus' name. Amen
